Ok, so, lets talk about the type of websites that Search Engines like to rank in their top 10 restuls.
First, think about the internet. There are over 100,000,000 websites online right now! That is a lot of websites for Search Engines to sort through and rank!!
On Alexa.com you can see the 500 most popular websites in the United States, just about all of those websites make at least $1,000 dollars per day and rank very well in search engines. On Technorati you can see the 100 most popular blogs in the world, some of them valued in the millions and all getting tons of search traffic. Analyze the top 100 Clickbank products, which each have hundred of Affiliate website owners sending them traffic and making them sales, and decide for yourself why they do so well. Look at them carefully, and you will see how much time, detail and thought has been put into them. Think about the problems that they solve. All websites that rank well and make money solve problems that people have. Also, look at their design and domain names, they are all catchy and cool.
Think about the 5 websites that you visit the most. The five websites that you would really miss is you could suddenly never use them again. Websites that you use EVERY DAY. What makes you like those websites? What makes them so cool? Why do you love them so much? Think hard. What makes those websites so cool?!
The reason you love your favorite websites so much is because they help you solve problems that you have, teach you how to solve problems that you have, connect you with other people so that they can help you solve more problems that you have (Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter help you solve your problem of Loneliness ), or entertain you in some way(like Youtube.com orDeviantArt.com). The best websites in the world all have owners that pour a lot of time, energy, thought, love, passion, expertise, and soul into them. That is why they rank well, search engines like those kind of websites. Realize that, and then start a website about something you love that thousands of people could fall in love with, and pour a lot of your time, love, and energy into it to make the world a better place. Those are the type of sites that search engines rank #1, that is the type of site that you have to build. There is no shortcut, you can’t build a half-ass crappy website and expect it to rank #1.
So, now to the steps to Rank #1…
Step 1- Choose a high search volume keyword to target in your niche by using the Google Keyword tool at
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal or Wordpot. A high search volume keyword is any keyword with at least 300 searches per month (10 per day) in Exact Match Local Search Volume.
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal or Wordpot. A high search volume keyword is any keyword with at least 300 searches per month (10 per day) in Exact Match Local Search Volume.
Keywords that are good to target have at least 300 monthly searches (10 per day), have less than 10,000,000 search results, and don’t have many homepages ranking for them. You can choose a keyword with more search results than 10,000,000 but it will take more time and links to rank for it.
Step 2- Buy a domain name that starts with that keyword. Exact match of the keyword is the best, but if you can’t get an exact match, add a word to the end of it. For example, if you wanted to buy “SamuraiSwords.com” but it was taken, choose something like “SamuraiSwordsShop.com” or “SamuraiSwordsWorld.com”. You can also use a domain without the keyword you want to rank for in it, but it will be harder to get links to your homepage with that anchor text, and getting links to your homepage from as many sites as possible with the keyword set as the anchor text you want to rank for is extremely important.
Anchor text is the text used in links
<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Anchor Text</a>
<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Anchor Text</a>
For example you would set your anchor text to
<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Keyword Phrase You Want To Rank For</a>
<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Keyword Phrase You Want To Rank For</a>
If your site was SamuraiSwordsShop.com, you might decide to target the keyword “Samurai Swords”, so you would build links like this
<a href=”http://www.samuraiswordsshop.com”>Samurai Swords</a>
<a href=”http://www.samuraiswordsshop.com”>Samurai Swords</a>
Think of links as votes. If 100 or 200 or 1000 websites link to your homepage with a particular keyword, Google knows that your site is relevant for that keyword and will rank your site high for that keyword.
Step 3- Build the website with WordPress. WordPress is the best website builder in the world, it is open source free software that anyone can use. Here is a guide on how to setup a website with wordpress or see the Website Building section of this site.
Set your homepage “title tag” to the keyword you are targeting. Make the homepage have at least 200 words, with links throughout to the rest of your site so that my bounce rate is low.
Step 4- Add 1 blog post per day that is at least 200 words long, each post with a title that targets a keyword phrase with at least 5 words. After 3 months, your site will have 100 posts ranking for different long tail keyword phrases and sending you traffic.
Just sit down for 20 minutes per night, and write. Once the 20 minutes is up, publish what you have written as a post. Don’t stress about it, remember, what you are doing is writing to get traffic. The more posts your website has, the more traffic it will get from long tail keywords. You can also hire people to write for you for $5 per 400 words.
Step 5- Build links to the homepage of your website by setting the anchor text to the keyword you want to rank for. Add this code to as many websites as possible
<a href=”http://www.yourwebsite.com”>Keyword Phrase You Want To Rank For</a>
Read the Backlinks Forum every day.
To build links, look at the links to other high ranking websites using OpenSiteExplorer.org and thelink: command at Google and Yahoo(try it with the www. and without). Then clone the links you can. The links you will be able to clone are on sites like article directories, blog comments, forums, website profile pages, and anywhere else you can find to add your link. Build atleast 5 links to your site per day.
After a couple weeks, you will start seeing your site move up in the search results for your targeted keyword. Keep building links to your homepage, the more links your site has the higher it will rank.
